Daniel Jack

Director of Bands

Daniel Jack graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. His previous employment was as a band director for the Winnebago School District where he taught 5th grade through 12th grade.
Mr. Jack’s primary instrument is percussion which he regularly performs around the northern Illinois/Chicagoland area. Mr. Jack currently performs with the Chicago Bears Drumline, The Rhythm Messengers, ADH Experience, and with Rocco Z Music as a Disc Jockey.
He previously performed with the Chicago Bulls Drumline, The Milwaukee Bucks Drumline, Kanye West, Green Thunder Percussion, Rockford Concert Band, Kishwaukee Orchestra, Jack Taylor Johnson Percussion Trio, Vertical Discrepancy Percussion Duo, various NIU ensembles, and Two Friends.
Along with performing, Mr. Jack has also taught Crystal Lake Thunder for three seasons as a Bassline instructor. Mr. Jack taught private percussion lessons to students ranging from 5th grade through the age of 25.

Tyler Guthrie

Assistant Marching Band Director

This is Tyler Guthrie’s 3rd year as the assistant marching band director for HHS. He is also a director of bands at Oliver W Holmes Middle School in Wheeling, IL where he will begin his 5th year of teaching 5th-8th grade band this coming school year. 

Mr. Guthrie studied Music Education at Western Illinois University and graduated in December of 2018. During his time at WIU, he played with many of the ensembles that the university offers including the Jazz Band, Jazz Studio Orchestra, Orchestra, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Trombone Studio, and Pep Band. He was a member of the Marching Leathernecks at WIU where he eventually earned the role of being a Drum Major during his senior year. He also graduated with his Master’s in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in July of 2023.

Mr. Guthrie enjoys playing with musicians around the Chicago Area outside of the school day. He is currently a member of the Palatine Concert Band and has previously performed with the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra. He is also an Alumni of the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps where he spent the summer marching in 2014.

Tyler Stewart

Percussion Staff

Tyler Stewart is an English teacher at Wauconda High School. Outside of the school day, he instructs marching percussion ensembles for  Wauconda, Huntley, and Prospect schools. On the rare occasion he finds himself in his backyard, Tyler enjoys cooking for friends and family.
Tyler has worked with Huntley High School since 2021. He has designed technique packets, cadences, and percussion parts for the field show. He is proud to work with the HHS percussion section and staff!

Josh Vezina

Percussion Staff

Originally hailing from Tinley Park, Josh began his percussion career in 5th grade. His love for drumline and marching band, however, didn’t begin until his freshman year at Victor J Andrew High School, where he made the snare line as a sophomore.
After spending 3 years on the snare line at Andrew, he continued on playing for the next 5 years at Northern Illinois University, spending 3 of those years as the drumline section leader. While in school, he also spent 1 season as a member of Evolution Indoor Percussion and taught at Naperville North High School for 1 season.
Following Graduation, Josh taught at Lake Park High School for 3 season before moving to the Huntley Community with his wife, Amy, and thus joining Red Raider Nation. He is also a current member and section leader of the Chicago Bears drumline.
When Josh is not teaching drums, he enjoys watching many different forms of racing, hanging out with friends, and rooting on his favorite Chicago sports teams; the Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks, and or course Bears.

Katie Klipstein

Percussion Staff - Front Ensemble

Katie Klipstein is a percussionist by training, holding degrees in performance and education. She currently teaches front ensemble at Huntley High School, Batavia High School, and the Crystal Lake Thunder Indoor Percussion Group.
In her free time, Katie enjoys hikes, sudoku puzzles, and Taco Bell.

Bryan Jamison

Percussion and Design Staff

Bryan studied Music Education at VanderCook College of Music. As a performer, Bryan was a member of Green Thunder and the world class Cavaliers Indoor Percussion front ensembles.
He currently works with Batavia High School marching bands as their Percussion Caption Head, designer, writer, and sound designer. Bryan is the director, writer, and designer of the WGI finalist group Crystal Lake Thunder.
